Spring Residency '26
The KAAF Spring Residency invites painters and printmakers to spend ten days working in the quiet foothills of Srinagar during one of the most beautiful times of the year. Hosted at the KAAF Studio, the city’s first dedicated painting and printmaking studio. The residency offers artists time, space, and community to focus on their practice in an intimate and supportive environment.
Spring in Srinagar brings blooming gardens, clear light, and a renewed rhythm to the landscape, making it an ideal period for sustained studio work. Designed primarily for independent creation and reflection, the residency also encourages meaningful exchange between visiting artists and the local creative ecosystem.
Alongside studio time, residents will have opportunities to engage with Kashmiri artisans — including shawl weavers, papier-mâché artists, and walnut wood carvers — offering insight into traditional practices and material knowledge that continue to shape the region’s artistic landscape.
